To share the findings of the VET WIND II – project, all partners have organized a multiplier event in their own country. Local stakeholders and businesses were invited, to think and discuss together about the most important outcomes of the project.
The biggest question addressed was: is harmonization possible in wind energy and in what way? This topic was looked at from different angles, divided in the following areas:
– Content of learning courses for wind technician education
– Certification and underlying requirements a wind technician needs to have
– Infrastructure and workshops. Alignment and coordination can lead to sharing of expensive infrastructure
– Entry level: a common starting level at which wind technicians can enter the industry after graduating.
– Organisation: an international (offshore) wind energy network to improve coordination including both education and business.
– Apprenticeships and traineeships: alignment and coordination in the field of international traineeships.
The overall conclusions were positive. Despite challenges, most participants did possible ways of harmonizing in one of the above mentioned fields.
